Choosing the Right Window Film
For cars, the main choice is between dyed, carbon and ceramic film. Dyed is the cheapest and looks good but rejects the least heat; carbon adds a fade-proof matte finish and better heat control; and ceramic rejects the most heat and UV without blocking phone, GPS or keyless signals. How dark you can legally go depends on your state, so darkness (VLT %) is a legal decision as well as a comfort one.
For homes and offices, solar and heat-control film is the everyday choice for cutting heat and glare, ceramic film steps that up for west-facing or oversized glass, frosted film adds privacy, and safety or security film holds glass together if it breaks. There are no legal darkness limits on buildings, so you can pick the shade that suits each room.
